Another absolute cracker. From their Wilson's Pool vineyard, the fruit is handpicked, destemmed and berry sorted into small wooden and stainless steel fermenters, by way of gravity. 25% whole bunches. A natural fermentation. The wine spends fourteen days on skins before it is pressed directly to fine grained, large format, seasoned French oak for eleven months maturation. The final blend is 90% Grenache, 7% Mourvedre and 3% Syrah. A vibrant crimson hue, this offers a fully fragrant nose with cranberries, exotic spices, pepper, florals, raspberries, a hint of coffee grinds and hints of the delicatessen. Such an alluring nose. A mid-weight style with good focus and a seductive texture, through to a lingering finish, which is just slightly drying, thanks to the tannins, which are a mix of the silky and sandy, something we do see with this variety. Black pepper, Texas tea, raspberry and black cherry with graphite, clove and mineral-like notes threaded through. It's medium weight but there are plenty of bass notes, if that makes sense. It has a meaty darkness in among the brightness of the spice. It's tight, dry and grapey through the finish; everything here suggests quality. Indeed this is a pretty special grenache." 94 pts

Tasting Notes
Bright lively crimson Perfumed with great clarity. Summer pudding of raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, red liquorice and fennel seeds. Medium bodied with abundant fruit intensity. Musk sticks, Turkish delight and fresh strawberries are complimented by a delightfully fresh and engaging palate full of flavour and texture and balanced by fleshy velvety tannins
Winemakers Note
The fruit was hand-picked, destemmed, berry sorted and emptied to small wooden and stainless steel fermenters via gravity. We incorporated 25% whole bunches and wild fermentation to build structure and texture and provide the framework on which to express the distinctive aromatics and flavours of Grenache. The wine spent two weeks on skins prior to pressing directly to fine grained, large format, seasoned French oak, and was aged for 11 months prior to bottling. The wine was made with minimum effective Sulphites, is unfined and minimally filtered.
