The Collective Review
“Super-plush satsuma plum and blackberry fruits underscored by hints of baking spices, cedar, crème de cassis, violets, roasting meats, olive tapenade, chocolate bullets and earth. A core of deep northern Barossa black fruits on the palate with chocolate-dipped cherry overtones, fine chocolatey tannins and a crashing swell of cassis fruit on the long finish. Impressive.”
Salivating? Us too. That’s what James Halliday had to say about this stunning Shiraz - and he also gave it 97pts. And Erin Larkin also loves it, awarding it 95pts and saying it’s “built for pleasure”.

A profusion of sweet fruit emanates from the glass of this 2021 Hampel Single Vineyard Shiraz, offering up sugar-dusted raspberries, rose petals, cassis, red toffee apples, rhubarb spears, strawberries and wine gums. In the mouth, the exotically spiced oak steps up to the plate and makes itself felt, however the fruit has such unerring power and drive that it doesn't impact it one jot. This has a silky, sybaritic display of forest fruits and opulent tannins; it's a wine built for pleasure not speed. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under natural cork.
Black berries and black plum on the nose, the is dense and concentrate, black berries, mulberries, touch or rose petal, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cedar, pine, vanilla, with ripe full tannins and long length, blockbuster.

Tasting Notes
Lifted pure fruit characters of plum and other black fruits. Dark fruit notes balance out the palate with new oak complexity and long, rich finish.
