The Collective Review

This wine destined for the overseas market had its order cancelled (you'll notice the US labels on the bottles when you open the case), meaning TWC customers reap the rewards. Thanks to our tasting panel securing this exceptional Margaret River Cabernet, you can enjoy significant savings and get a structured red that would pair perfectly with a slow-roasted shoulder of lamb. Five blocks across the Margaret River dress circle of Yallingup and Wilyabrup play their role here, offering blackcurrant pastille, mocha, and lavish oak. This just gets better by the dozen.

Juicy, brambly, spicy and a little bit savoury, this has earthy cassis and a handful of bay leaf, set against a backdrop of dark, toasty oak: all of it making for excellent value-for-money drinking. 2020 produced lush, tannic wines like this. Very good. Read more

A bright and lively cabernet from Margaret River. It’s juicy and distinctly fruit driven, but with a spine of fine chalky tannins and a slip of oak to guide it to a long finish. Plenty of blackcurrant and a little bay leaf to lend a little to the flavour. Give it a splash in a decanter to open it up.

Tasting Notes

The Dirty Boots has a complex aroma including blackcurrant, kalamata and bay and tomato leaf with whiffs of cocoa and cedar. The cooler season has allowed us to craft a medium bodied savoury and elegant style of Cabernet Sauvignon. A thread of fine knit tannin weaves through the palate backing up the blackberry and chocolate fruit, finishing long and fine.

Winemakers Note

Five small blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon were selected for this
blend: three from Yallingup and two from Wilyabrup. The Yallingup
Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards have provided the earthy, chocolate, blackberry notes with fleshy texture; the Wilyabrup components contribute ripe blackcurrant and violet aromatics with dense and rich filigreed long tannins.
