Charming and enticing, the bouquet shows dark berry, dried herb, olive and assorted nut characters. The palate delivers medium-full weight and silky mouthfeel, well supported by fine-grained tannins. It's beautifully balanced and structured, finishing long and pleasingly dry.

The colour here is a deep blood red. Another fine Clare Valley Cabernet with this example showing some red fruit notes along with the more traditional darker fruits. There are bay leaves and dried herbs. A fine structure here too with attractive, lifted flavours, good grip and slightly firm tannins finishing with medium length. This is attractive now and should continue to impress over the next six to eight years.

Aromas of forest berry compote, choc-mint, sandalwood and tobacco. Very rich and ripe to taste with a good sense of potency, a bit of booze-soaked berries going on, lending a bit of breathiness and heat to the finish. Flavours of mulberry, choc-mint and cedary, splintery wood seasoning with some graphite mineral qualities underlying. Not quite in the full flex of balance, but does well as a bolder example of the variety, mostly.
