2019 Hardys Tintara Grenache Shiraz Mataro

Intensely aromatic and hints of dark cherry, pomegranate, raspberry, liqourice and musk. Hints of plum, red currants, raspberry, blueberry, milk chocolate, dried herbs. Mint and earthiness add complexity. The wine is finely balanced with soft acidity, fine texture and silky tannins. A wine of generous depth of flavour, fine balance and soft, silky tannins. The softness of the Grenache compliments the structure and texture of the Shiraz and Mataro.

2019 saw winter rainfalls that were slightly below average for McLaren Vale while spring and Summer continued to be dry. Heat spikes in January preceded a warm and dry harvest period however temperatures rarely exceed the low 30’s. Diligent vineyard management and strong vine architecture allowed fruit to achieve desirable sugar and flavour levels with very low disease pressure. Picking at optimum maturity has resulted in wines which display vibrant bright colours with ripe flavour profiles, rounded flavoursome palates and soft fine tannins.
