2018 Kaesler Stonehorse Cabernet Sauvignon

A mid to full weight palate, mouth filling with rich peppermint patty chocolate upfront, and lovely grippy tannins with a solid underline of mocca from the French barrels

The Stonehorse wines are full of character like the teams of Clydesdale horses that used to work the heavy clay soil, long before tractors were invented. An assemblage of estate vineyards ranging in age from 26 to 56 years in age.

The fruit is machine harvested in the early mornings at optimum ripeness then crushed and destemed.  The fermentation is around 7 to 9 days and once completed the wine is pressed to tank and let rest for a few days.  Half of the wine is matured in 3 and 4 year old French barriques. A wine to enjoy in its youth, however, it will happily live for a further 10 years.
