The Lake Bartężek Estate is found along the western shores of Lake Bartężek, in the celebrated Masurian Lake District of northern-eastern Poland. Owned by independent farmer Mr. Jan Skwierawski, the estate exclusively cultivates the Diamond Dankowskie Rye sourced for this vodka. LONG WINTERS: The Baltic Sea to the north creates a long snowy and cold winter, which stresses the rye, developing unique flavor potential. REGION OF GLACIAL LAKES: The terrain is dotted with 2000 lakes and post-glacial clay-type soil, which is rich in phosphorus and potassium and which resists the region’s heavy rain and snowfall. THE RESULTING DELICATE FLAVOR: The long winter and particular soils yield a fresh and delicate vodka, more reminiscent of the terroir’s calm lakes than harsh climate. Medium-bodied and delicate with notes of spearmint, fresh hay and a hint of biscuit. The finish is clean and crisp with persistent notes of menthol, fresh cut grass and rye bread.
