2021 Clos du Milieu

LIMITED QUANTITY AVAILABLE Clos du Milieu is sourced from a single plot, entirely planted with Merlot, bordered by hedgerows. This new cuvée whose vines are situated in the centre of Angelus vineyard in the commune of Castillon-la-Bataille, just a few kilometres from Saint-Emilion, in the magnificent cool, deep clay-limestone soils of the upper slope, displays freshness, tension et density. This cuvée has been produced with the specific aim of creating wines under the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation and thus, while it widens the Angelus range of wines, it also contributes to the promotion of the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Vinified at our Chai Carillon, in a unique cellar, this cuvée enjoy the care and attention provided by a handful of passionately committed and dedicated vignerons who help endow it with the stature of great wines. The 2021 vintage The great clay-limestone terroirs of Clos du Milieu brought the superb Merlot to ripeness in 2021. The wine is rich and complex with great aromatic purity on the nose with notes of small black fruits, spices and tobacco. The palate is elegant, rich and smooth with a long, lingering finish, enhanced by the oak.
