The 2015 Extra-Brut Grand Vintage is a terrific choice for drinking now, as it is so expressive. Baked apple tart, spice, lemon confit, marzipan and a hint of toastiness are front and center. Open-knit and engaging, the 2015 is a Champagne of pure and total pleasure.

Tasting Notes

In Champagne, 2015 was a year of tension, dramatic heat & uncertainty… A clement winter was followed by a cool beginning of spring marked by an icy spell and infrequent but heavy rain. Then, an abrupt switch to extreme heat and a dry spell ensued. It was the hottest sun since 1961, but then temperatures plummeted at the end of August, and precious downpours relieved the parched soil. The harvest began serenely. Nevertheless, the fruit matured well, with good concentration and striking aromas. It was a harvest of exceptional red-skinned grapes. This year, the Meuniers and the Pinot Noirs were showing exceptional maturity with a powerful, fruity nose and full-bodied finish.
