The Collective Review

It’s not even an evolution, but a revolution between 2000 and today,’ said Dom Pérignon chef de cave Vincent Chaperon. ‘We changed a lot of things: the selection of plots, the way we are cultivating the vines, how we’re pushing the maturity of the grapes.’

This shows incredible depth of fruit with strawberry, cherry and phenolics. Full-bodied and layered with an incredible, three-dimensional element to the wine. This is so transparent and dynamic with dark fruit, yet it remains vivid and bright. Refined and precise, it goes on and on. Really savory, fresh and incredibly pinot-noir-like. What a wine. 13 years of maturation in the bottle. So drinkable now, but it will age for many years ahead. 99 points JamesSuckling.com Read more

The newly released 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé is a dramatic, perfumed wine, bursting with aromas of blood orange, iodine, sweet citrus fruit, peach and pear mingled with hints of buttered toast, smoke and spices. Full-bodied, textural and enveloping, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a pillowy mousse, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish. It derives its intense hue from red wine produced from Pinot Noir grown in lieux-dits Chants de Linottes in Hautvillers and Vauzelles in Aÿ. Drink 2022 - 2042. 97 points William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Sep 2022)

The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé is magnificent. Rich and deep in the glass, the 2008 offers up an exotic mélange of aromas and flavors. Sweet red cherry, mint, orange peel and rose petal all grace this beguiling beauty. Bright acids and a little less still red Pinot (21%) than in most recent editions yields a Rosé that is delicate and light on its feet, with less of the vinous intensity that marked vintages such as 2006. There is a classic feeling of austerity in the 2018 that is mesmerizing. Drink 2026-2048. 97 points Antonio Galloni - Vinous

An impeccably balanced and graceful sparkling rosé, with a plushly creamy mousse. It's hard to tell where the firm spine of well-honed acidity and the expressive range of pureed raspberry, candied ginger, tangerine and lemon thyme flavors begin or end. A rich hint of smoky toasted brioche plays on the finish. Drink now through 2033. 97 points Alison Napjus - Wine Spectator

Tasting Notes

When Dom Pérignon chooses to be rosé, it is a radical declaration of freedom. Freedom to explore. Freedom to cast aside conventions and push the boundaries of creation. Dom Pérignon Rosé springs from this desire to dare, seizing the red of the pinot noir grape in its primalradiance, capturing its vital power in a bold, assertive assemblage. Tempered by a slow, masterful transformation during nearly 12 years in the cellar, Dom Pérignon Rosé is untamed and carnal, both light and dark, magnetic. Its vibration embraces the thrill of the unknown and is an invitation to transgression. After fleeting aromas of rose, orange oil and saffron, the bouquet becomes warmer, dominated by red fruit – raspberry and cherry – then somber touches of cassis and fig. Sweetness ultimately triumphs, with notes of gingerbread and licorice. The fruit is majestic, ripe, fleshy and profound. After a markedly smooth and round initial mouthfeel, the wine nestles in the heart of the palate, settling with a sort of intimately intense caress. The power is contained, and the dominant impression is consistency. Sapid sensations converge and persist, leaving the memory of their tactile imprint.
