2022 ChaLou Dreaded Friend Viognier Orange Viognier

Orange blossom and vibrant citrus. The palate is light an fresh with lychee and crushed flowers.

Vineyard: ChaLou, Orange. N.S.W

Soil: Ordovician material approximately 460million years old.  It contains basic volcanic material; sandstone, siltstone breccia and conglomerate derived from basalt and andesite

Season: A Cool wet season.  Vines were shoot thinned and leaf plucked to reduce disease pressure and keep canopies open and dry.  

Winemaking Notes:

Picked earlier in the season to retain natural acidity and lower alcohol.

The Viognier was pressed and racked off solids.  It was fermented in older French Hogsheads at cool temperature <18C with native yeast.

Aged on fine solids until spring. 

Minimal fining prior to bottling. This wine is vegan friendly.
