The Collective Review

It's not every day that a wine takes the collective breath away of our Tasting Panel, but in a tasting of 66 of its rivals, this one stood firmly in front. It's no surprise that it's from the Margaret River and a winery called Miles from Nowhere. It's textbook Cabernet with ample fruit, great balance, and muscular intensity.

Concentrated black currant, almost cordial like. A touch of mint in there to add some complexity, along with some fine oak. The palate is where this really sings, its so full, and intense, but with a lovely acidity that makes this ever so drinkable. A real pleasure to drink. Stand out wine with incredible balance, intensity and length. Read more

Great nose, bay leaf and cassis, cassis stewed berries, herbacious spiced edge to the wine

Black cassis in a dusty spice cupboard, on the palate the wine is full bodied and densely packed black berries and cassis with upfront new oak, coconut, dill, nutmeg, sandalwood, and cassia bark, chewy tannins with some dried violets in the finish.

Tasting Notes

Deep Crimson with a garnet hue. Candied cherry, dark chocolate, orange rind, hints of cassis and violets. After some time, an attractive cedary cigar box, touch of composted earth and very faint dried herb show. The wine is elegant with intense fruit flavours reigned in with ample fine grain tannin crying out for food.Drink Now or Cellar to 2036
