After a mild and dry winter, bud burst was early. One week ahead of a normal year, it started on 20 March with the Syrah and Merlot. Spring was cool and the rains in May (100 mm) reassured us about the water reserves. The head start seen at bud burst was reduced and flowering was spread out from 2 to 15 June, typical dates for the estate. The summer was hot with regular rainfall, with peaks of 36°C recorded on several occasions in July and August.
Despite these exceptional temperatures, and thanks to the freshness of our terroir, véraison began on 5 August for the Syrah and Malbec and ended on 25 August for the Cabernet Franc.
The harvest started on 22 September with the Merlot, a few days ahead of an average year, and ended on 17 October with our plot of Cabernet Sauvignon. The very fine weather in autumn contributed to the perfect success of our harvest. The grapes were picked at the required ripeness and in a very good state of health.
