Château de Beaucastel, the exceptional terroir of Châteauneuf-du-pape Château de Beaucastel is renowned as one of France's finest wines, celebrated for its elegance, balance, and aging potential. Jacques Perrin, by pushing boundaries like other pioneers, secured his place in wine history. To honor his legacy, the fifth generation of Famille Perrin crafted the exceptional cuvée "Hommage à Jacques Perrin." At its origin, a remarkable terroir of very old vines tended as naturally as possible, according to the principles of biodynamics that were so dear to Jacques Perrin, to extract the purest and the truest expression. Its unique stylistic signature is also influenced by a veritable choice, that of the dominance of Mourvèdre in the blend. Known for its noble tannins, balance, and aging potential, each vintage matures slowly, gaining complexity and purity over time. The 2022 Vintage The 2022 vintage is marked by an exceptionally early harvest, low yields, and high quality. Minimal rainfall and higher-than-average temperatures throughout the growing season, reminiscent of 2003, stressed the vines. Despite challenges, the vintage benefited from mid-August storms, although some areas experienced hail damage. The mistral winds helped preserve grape quality, leading to a harvest that began as early as 17 August. This vintage is noted for its resilience, with careful attention required during the prolonged harvest to balance ripeness, alcohol levels, and tannin finesse.
