Not surprising this is one of the best examples of this wine yet released. The vintage worked perfectly in its favour, producing fruit of medium body and loaded with deeply intense flavours striking a wonderful natural balance. It’s had a reasonable level of new oak at 55%, but the intensity and concentration of the fruit has taken it easily. Bright red fruit bursting from a bright lively palate.

Erin Larkin - Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The 2023 Gravel Pit Shiraz leads with an abundance of dark berry fruits and layers of lush spices. The tannins sit within the fruit and create a gently chewy silty sensation. This is a medium-bodied, texturally engaging wine with plush fruit; these are characters typical of good Geographe Shiraz, and it's one of the reasons why I believe the region has so much potential for quality red wine. 13.9% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Mike Bennie - Halliday Wine Companion

Around 35% new French oak is used to mature the wine. A supple and flowing shiraz of dark cherry, red plum, raspberry fruit characters, ebullient in perfume and yet restrained and filigreed on the palate. The compact nature of the wine and fine web of gently dusty tannins elevate things well. Perhaps a little bitter and lemony through the finish. Structured and serious yet gulpable at its more modest alcohol level.

Inky and toasty, peppery and meaty. Cedarwood and sweet berries. Plum skin, fig and lavender oil. Palate is meaty with beef stock and some dark chocolate tannins and iodine feel in the aftertaste. All fits in a medium body even though it has bold flavours painted in shades of black. Good value.

A juicy, fruit-driven red showing plums, chocolate cherries, peppercorns and bay leaves on the nose. It’s full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and light peppery undertones.
