Fruit from 39-year-old estate-grown vines; whole-bunched pressed to French puncheons and barriques. No bâtonnage or mlf. A deep-ish and bright green gold. Another classic rich but balanced chardonnay from TarraWarra. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, lemon confit, honey and a little fresh vanillin bean. Textured with a gentle creaminess and good tension to close.

There’s plenty of bounce to this Yarra Valley chardonnay. It’s full of flavour – peaches and butter, grilled lemons, honeysuckle, fennel, seaspray and cedarwood – and rather than tighten (overtly) through the finish it flares out and rolls straight on. It’s both generous and zippy; it’s quite buttery but it’s not weighed down by it. It’s certainly an enjoyable drink.
