Tasting Notes

The nose is richly seductive with aromas of Meyer lemon, tangelo, and fresh nectarines. The palate is intensely flavoured with zesty citrus-driven flavours of lemon and pink grapefruit, complemented by rich fruity notes of rockmelon, guava and papaya. The lusciously flavoured palate is classically generous yet deceptively delicate, deftly bound by a tight line of crisp acidity that carries through to a long, zesty finish.

Product Highlights

Looking to experience what makes John Hughes such a magician with Riesling? No.3 is probably the place to start. It's made primarily from the Hughes family vineyard at White Hutt in Clare Valley, where heavy red clay over limestone gives Riesling with a bit more generosity to it. Still dry and fresh, but with more fruit and weight – ripe citrus, stone fruit and a little tropical character.
