Rayne Vigneau, a fresh and elegant wine Rayne Vigneau's vineyard is perched on a majestic hilltop overlooking the Sauternes region, in the commune of Bommes. For centuries, generations have succeeded one another on this hill since Gaillard Sauvage founded the estate in the early 17th century. Among his notable successors, the Pontac family stands out, whose name is deeply intertwined with the emergence of the great Bordeaux wines. They acquired the estate in 1834. Under their stewardship, the Château was awarded the prestigious title of Premier Grand Cru Classé of Sauternes in the celebrated 1855 Classification and was hailed as the 'Best Wine in the World' in 1867. Now owned by the Trésor du Patrimoine group, Château Rayne Vigneau is currently managed by Vincent Labergère, with guidance from oenologist Henri Boyer. Rayne Vigneau remains one of the elite estates in the appellation, consistently producing wines of intense style, remarkable length, and refreshing vitality with each vintage.
