Tasting Notes

Iridescent golden yellow tones, full, fruity nose, clean palate. A very come-hither Champagne: racy, elegant and deeply sensual, with beguiling bubbles that literally burst with luscious fruit. Mouth-watering hints of lightly toasted, freshly buttered bread make this the ideal Champagne to get the juices, and the conversation, flowing.

Product Highlights

Lay out the red-carpet for the arrival of Champagne Mailly Grand Cru, a collection crafted with passion from one of Champagne’s most celebrated Grand Cru villages. This release, from a co-op of 80 growers who know their vines like family, brings you a lineup that captures the heart of the Mailly’s village terroir.

The base wine is made up of 25% Chardonnay and 75% Pinot Noir, 34% of which comes from 10-year-old reserves, with a 7.5g/L dosage. Made in the aperitif style, it’s full of minerality with a brilliant structure, thanks to its Pinot Noir dominance. 95 points from Huon Hooke calls it “smart pinot-driven Champagne… ample, with generous flavour, round shape, and lovely balance.” 94 points from James Suckling, who praises its “candied fruits, apricot tart, and vanilla sugar,” highlighting its “integration of fruit, creaminess, and acidity.”
