Vibrant in colour with intense purple hues, the aromatics are all red florals with notes of berry crumble and baking spices. The palate is layered with brooding red fruits, mulberry, black cherry and blood plum. Star anise, fennel and freshly crushed peppercorns add complexity to this luscious core. The weighty and tensile palate is framed by silky tannin which drives to a long finish.

Philip Rich - Halliday Wine Companion
With trophies for both its excellent Rosé and the Estate Shiraz at this year's Yarra Valley Wine Show, Medhurst is killing it at the moment. From its bright crimson-ruby colour to its aromas of red and black fruits, floral notes and spice, this is a jewel of a wine from the get-go. Medium bodied, it's both concentrated and light on the palate, with just the right amount of silky, persistent tannins in support. Worth every cent, and then some.
