Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2023 375ml 12 Pack

Lafaurie-Peyraguey, an epitome of excellence Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, a historic estate, covers 18.5 hectares of vineyards on an elevated site just outside the village of Bommes, in the heart of the Sauternes region. The ancient stones and extensive archives of the château bear witness to a rich history spanning eight centuries. In 2014, Silvio Denz, owner of the prestigious crystalware company Lalique, acquired this iconic Sauternes property. Nestled in the best terroirs of Sauternes, Lafaurie-Peyraguey is situated on the region's high gravel terrace, 70 metres above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. Recognised as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, the distinctive character of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey wines is the result of the interplay of four key elements: the terroir between the Garonne and Ciron rivers, a unique microclimate, the influence of Botrytis cinerea (noble rot) and the dominance of the Sémillon grape variety. The 2023 vintage The 2023 vintage was characterised by a mild, wet winter, rapidly rising temperatures in the spring and record heat in the summer. The 2023 vintage proved to be a demanding one, requiring the teams to be extremely vigilant. The harvest was carried out in two stages, separated by ten days, in order to obtain perfectly botrytised grapes. In the glass, the wine offers spectacular aromas on the nose. Notes of apricot jam and citrus fruit, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. On the palate, this is a smooth, elegant elixir with a fresh, refined finish.
