A true sherry bomb from Kavalan's flagship Solist range. Each bottle is drawn from a single Spanish Oloroso sherry cask and hand-bottled at cask strength, with no colouring and no chill filtration. Taiwan's hot, humid climate drives an intense interaction between spirit and wood, producing a deep, dark and richly layered whisky. As a single-cask release, the exact strength and flavour vary slightly from bottling to bottling. Nose: Cherry jam, prunes and bramble fruit, dark chocolate and orange, with hints of cigar box and polished wood. Palate: Powerful and rich - plums, blackcurrant and cherries, walnuts, clove and cedar, with a lovely sweet-and-sour balance. Finish: Long, warming and chocolatey, with lingering dried fruit and spice. Distillery: Kavalan, Yilan County, Taiwan. Range: Solist (single cask). Cask: Single Oloroso sherry cask.
