The whisky that started it all - Kavalan Classic was the distillery's first release and remains its flagship. Made with spring water from Taiwan's Snow Mountain range and matured mainly in refill and ex-bourbon casks with a touch of sherry, it showcases the clean, tropical-fruit style Kavalan is famous for. An ideal starting point for anyone new to Taiwanese whisky. Nose: Clean, floral and fruity - orchid, honey, mango, pear drops, vanilla and coconut, with a hint of chocolate. Palate: Sweet mango juice with gentle spice and warmth. Finish: Medium length, oily and citrusy. Distillery: Kavalan, Yilan County, Taiwan. Casks: Mainly refill and ex-bourbon, with some sherry. ABV: 40%. 700ml.
