Clos Lanson 2010

Lanson, one of the oldest Champagne House Founded in 1760, Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne Houses, known for its elegant wines with distinctive freshness and vitality. Winemaker Hervé Dantan maintains Lanson’s unique style through meticulous Crus selection, traditional vinification, a rich reserve wine collection, and extended aging. Located in the heart of Reims, le Clos Lanson is the only hectare of vineyard to remain within the historical walls of the city. Hidden behind high walls, this single vineyard of chardonnay dating back to the 18th century offers a breathtaking view of the Cathedral. Located just above the House cellars, le Clos Lanson is farmed like a true garden both because of its unique location and the special care it receives on a daily basis. In addition this single vineyard benefits from a very pure, chalky soil and an exceptional microclimate which is favorable for the development of the vine. Each year only a very limited number of vintage bottles are produced. About Clos Lanson: https://youtu.be/bgNYzcFYFeI The 2010 Vintage: 2010 was one of the coldest and driest years in recent decades. Finally, in mid-August, the rain and rising temperatures allowed the Chardonnays to ripen quickly and generously. The harvest of the Clos took place on September 12th under a shinning sun and required a demanding selection work to keep only the perfectly ripe grapes. After twelve years on the lees, the wines of Le Clos Lanson reveal a remarkable elegance and lightness, the signatures of the vintage.
