A touch of greengage on the nose and litchee on the palate, which is rounded, creamy, and rich, with plenty of concentration. But there is a cut of freshness through the fruit, and this focuses to show mineral tension on the finish, where it fizzles brightly. 2027–35. 95 Points

Attractive mid lemon yellow. The bouquet has much more precision. You know there is great weight behind but it doesn’t insist on it. However the further back you go on the palate, the more it delivers in completeness yet with immaculate balance. Drink from 2029-2036.

A more elegant, cooler and more floral-suffused nose is also much more restrained. The middle weight flavors aren’t quite as dense as those of the regular cuvée but they are markedly more mineral-driven and refined as well as displaying better persistence on the impeccably well-balanced, chiseled and youthfully austere finale. This firmly structured effort is very good and worth your interest.

The 2023 Meursault Les Charmes Dessus 1er Cru has a very pretty and appealing bouquet that offers white peach, almond and chamomile scents, underscored by a hint of grilled walnut. The palate is well balanced with a tangy opening, not quite as complex as the aromatics though there is commendable persistence on the finish. Fine. Points: 89-91
