Gorgeously fruited and gracefully styled, the wine shows dark berry, toasted spice, potpourri and hazelnut aromas on the nose. The concentrated palate displays expansive mouthfeel and plush texture, splendidly framed by beautifully melded tannins. Opulent and complex with refinement and finesse.

Ken Gargett - Winepilot

From a vineyard planted in the Moppa sub-region in 1900, this wine has a pleasing crimson-purple hue. We have spices, but the nose is dominated by an alluring mix of strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, coffee grinds, dried herbs, smoked meats and a hint of tomato bush. A wonderful and classic nose for Grenache, the tannins are a mix of silky and silty, but certainly quite abundant. There is great length, and the structure is both balanced and seamless. This has at least a decade ahead. A cracker. Drink now–2034.–

A gorgeous perfume of violets and purple flowers diffuses from the glass. Juicy raspberries run riot with baked raspberries, squishy blueberries and dark cherries peeling off neat layers of interest. Superfine and delicate, its supple flow and charismatic presence deliver a fabulous moreishness and a memorable length. Single-site Moppa grenache from 120-year-old vines. Citrus blossom-flecked red plum, raspberry and cranberry fruit notes with hints of gingerbread, cold tea, dried orange rind, exotic spice, turned earth and charcuterie. Spacious and savoury with a lovely spicy red fruit flourish, saline acid entry and a real lip-smacking sapidity as it fades. I like this.

Medium-deep crimson. Fresh red cherry strawberry aromas with hint of roasted walnut complexity. Very attractive pure red cherry, redcurrant, musky plum, cola flavours and fine slinky/ chalky textures. Builds to a minerally firm finish. Plenty of light and shade with ever-changing fruit nuances.
