Tasting Notes

Structure and power to boot, a ripe spectrum of red and dark fruits alight the senses and the fine-grained tannins engage to deliver a big, bullish like wine that has wonderful potential to age. Classic cigar box, tobacco and hints of tomato stalk nuance a dense bouquet.

Product Highlights

Exclusively crafted by the Briar Ridge team just for The Wine Collective, this wine offers unparalleled value, no questions asked.

Produced from Wrattonbully fruit on the Limestone Coast, it's made with the same rigorous standards applied to their Hunter winery.

However, knowing that the Hunter region cannot consistently produce high-quality Cabernet, Briar Ridge turned to South Australia, and the famed terra rossa soils to help craft a Bordeaux like red that was both ageworthy and powerful.

Recognised as one of the top 12 Best Value Wineries in Halliday, you'll understand why when you taste this exceptional wine.

"A very smooth cab sav from Briar Ridge. Full of flavour , dark cherry and not much tannin."

Too big and unbalanced. Needs time to mature and develop

"Obviously has great potential to develop into a full bodied mature red. Just too big and unbalanced currently. Put into cellar for next 1 or 2 years then check again."

Easy drinking now but will

"Easy drinking now but will get better with age."

Very good wine!

"Very good wine for the price. Would come back for more. Better if it breaths a bit before enjoying it."

A very good drop
