Winemakers Notes
The estate: Recognized for the exceptional quality of its terroirs, the estate has been producing memorable and unclassifiable wines since 1843 that generations of wine lovers love to pass on. Château Fourcas Dupré, nestled at the top of the Listrac appellation, produces wines on its 47 hectares that reflect the terroir which saw them born in the middle of this sublime Medoc landscape. In 2019, Gérard Jicquel, an entrepreneur from Brittany, bought the estate. He is a lifelong wine lover and an unconditional lover of Bordeaux wines. He works daily with his teams for the development and preservation of a heritage recognized for generations at Château Fourcas Dupré, but also at Château d'Agassac, which he has just acquired. The vintage: Patience and reactivity were necessary to ensure a nice 2021 vintage at Château Fourcas Dupré. Despite a beginning of summer a little bit cool and humid the teams managed to preserve perfect health conditions. The sun came out at the end of August and the beginning of September, and the Merlots quickly showed themselves to be attractive. The Cabernet Sauvignons reached perfect ripeness at the beginning of October, and the teams got the opportunity to wait to pick them up full and rich. They give a fruity and structuring energy to the wine. Certification: HVE3
