One of the oldest wineries in Saint-Emilion The viticultural activity of this estate dates back to the end of the 14th century, which makes it one of the oldest Bordeaux vineyards on the right bank. This Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion became famous when the Grailly family bought it in the 1800s. Following the sale of the vineyard in 1913, the name of the estate changed to Château La Clotte. Its history took a real turn in 2014, when the Vauthier family (owners of Château Ausone), became the owners. Its 4-hectare large vineyard is made of clay-limestone terraces, and ideally facing south. Its vineyard is officially in conversion to organic farming since the 2020 vintage. Its confidential but highly qualitative production makes this grand cru a must-have .
