Winemakers Notes
Finca Canal Uco a beautiful mountain wine
Third generation of winemaker, Sebastián Zuccardi grew up in a family who is a key figure in the history of winegrowing in Argentina. Since 1963, when his grandfather planted their first vines in Mendoza, Familia Zuccardi has not stopped creating, innovating and pushing boundaries to develop the unique personality of new Argentinean wines.
“We make mountain wines”, says Sebastian, “our Finca Canal Uco has been the beginning of a journey of knowledge and learning, in which we transformed instinct into experience”. In that land, previously cultivated with apple trees, they planted their first vines in Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley.
Finca Canal Uco is a 100% Malbec, which transports us to a landscape of stones and calcareous soils. The vines are located at 1,100m of altitude. Sebastian doesn't look for a perfect wine but for a wine that best expresses the place, the vineyard. It highlights the Zuccardi pioneering spirit in Paraje Altamira. Over the years, Finca Canal Uco has become one of the family's great wines.

The 2020 vintage
Weather conditions
February was rainy, but March and April were very dry months. The season was warmer than average, but days with great thermal amplitude. It was a short and early harvest.
Tasting notes
The wine shows notes of blue and black fruits, flowers and herbs.
A refreshing look at the 2020 vintage. A fine wine with a generous body, elegant tannins that stands out for its juiciness and a delicate chalk texture. To drink now or keep for many years.
