Château RAUZAN-GASSIES, second classified growth in 1855 in the Margaux appellation, owes its name to Chevalier de Rauzan, who transformed the maison noble de Gassies into a famous wine estate in the 17th century. Greatly attracted by this outstanding terroir, Monsieur Paul Quié, passionate about wine, acquired the château in 1946. The vineyard of Château Rauzan Gassies covers 30 hectares located in the Margaux appellation and 30 hectares located in the Haut-Médoc appellation. His son, Jean-Michel, assisted by his children, perpetuates today the tradition of this famous estate, which is the guardian and ambassador of the family's values. Château Rauzan-Gassies produces deeply-colored, elegant, complex wines with a velvety texture that is typical of great wines with superb ageing potential.
