Winemakers Notes
2020 is the closing vintage of Philippe Dambrine's long and successful carreer at Cantemerle. This great vintage is a fitting tribute to Philippe immense renovation work, and tireless promotionnal efforts. Many around the globe remember him for his always courteous manner and benevolent smile. He is now passing the batton to Laure Canu who will undoubtedly infuse even more energy into Cantemerle. Farewell Philippe ! Located in the southern part of the Bordeaux Medoc peninsula near the villages of Macau & Ludon, Château Cantemerle, designated a great growth in the famous 1855 classification, has deep gravel soil. Thanks to its unique terroi, Cantemerle produces complex, well-balanced, and refined wines. After belonging to the Villeneuve (1579-1892) and Dubos (1892-1980) families, the château was acquired in 1981 by SMA, a large mutual insurance company in the construction and civil engineering sector.
