Substance. Power. Concentration. And length. This is a red wine that really puts its foot down. Blackberry, smoky oak (and lots of it), dark chocolate blueberry milkshake and florals. Curls of tannin; well placed, well crafted. If you’re after a powerhouse wine, this is a really good example.

A mottled crimson with blue edges. A warm year, yet the oak handling here is one of expertise, serving to harness the nature of fruit so ripe, that it wants to veer into hedonism. This expertise keeps it in check. Iodine, blue-fruit aspersions, clove, smoked meats and florals aplenty. A smoky, saline, long finish. Oaky, yes. But for good reason. Good drinking.

A deep tarry and meaty shiraz that’s full-bodied with dense blackberry fruit. In spite of the huge scale this is well balanced on the front and mid-palates, the wood tannins currently making the finish a bit chewy. However, they should soften with a bit more bottle age. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
