Peter Moser - Falstaff

Dark ruby, with a deeply coloured core and purple reflections, subtly lighter at the rim. Multi-layered bouquet, characterized by floral and fruity nuances reflecting the cooler summer, fresh berries, zest, subtle nutty oak notes and a mineral touch. It is complex, with fine nuances of cherry and fruits of the forest, and silky tannins. Overall the wine has finesse and precision with a tight and persistent finish. It will only benefit from further bottle aging; a successful anniversary wine.

Joaquin Hidalgo - Vinous

The 2019 Seña was made in a year in which the average temperatures were similar to 2018 but organized differently: the spring was warm and the summer cool. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, 15% Carménère and 4% Petit Verdot, it was aged for 22 months, 90% in mostly new French barrels and 10% in foudres . Purple in the glass. The nose presents notes of plum with hints of blackberry and expressive layers of mint and herb. In the mouth the firm tannins are refined and a little compact. A delicate wine that will improve in the bottle.

Georgina Hindle - Decanter

The 25th anniversary bottling of Seña, created as a joint venture between Chilean Eduardo Chadwick and American Robert Mondavi in 1995 and now fully owned by the Chadwick family. This is rich, heady and intense on the nose with a palate that's layered and so moreish. There's a succulent to the fruit that hits you straight away, dropping the flavour squarely on the tongue, bold and powerful but wrapped up in velvet tannins that are so sleek. Well made, round with raspberry and blueberry fruit, coffee beans and a hint of salinity taking the complexity up a notch. Great stuff. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere and 4% Petit Verdot.

Anne Krebiehl MW - Falstaff

A most juicy nose of crushed dark berry shows charming hints of white pepper. The palate is wonderfully balanced: fine tannins still brush against the palate, right now this is characterised by vivid juiciness and much elegance lent by freshness. This is youthful but most promising.
