The 2019 Clos du Clocher presents a nose of beautifully defined black cherry and boysenberry fruit, truffle and hints of cedar, all very focused and full of vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. Some oak has yet to be subsumed on the entry, but there is great structure here, leading to a complex, tensile finish. This is an outstanding Pomerol.

The 2019 Clos du Clocher has a very seductive bouquet with layers of dark cherry, wild strawberry, soy and truffle scents. Later a touch of vanilla emanates from the oak, perfectly in sync with the fruit. The palate is very well balanced and super-smooth, fine acidity and a graceful, yet quite intense finish that leaves a residue of spice on the aftertaste. Very persistent. Outstanding.

Aromas of blackberries, plums, peppercorns, walnuts and toasted bread. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, silky tannins. Excellent freshness with a delicious, creamy and spicy finish. 75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc. Drink after 2024.

From a five-hectare vineyard on the plateau of Pomerol that's predominantly planted with old-vine Merlot (plus some Cabernet Franc from near Trotanoy), the 2019 Clos du Clocher exhibits aromas of cherries, berries and cassis mingled with hints of warm spices, licorice and creamy new oak. Full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's lively and concentrated, with a deep core of fruit and plenty of ripe tannin. This is a fine effort that should reward a bit of bottle age.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Clos du Clocher needs a little coaxing to reveal subtle scents of black raspberries, kirsch and wild blueberries, before a drop-dead gorgeous perfume of candied violets, cinnamon stick, clove oil, Darjeeling tea and star anise take center stage. The medium to full-bodied palate is very finely knit, with ripe, plush tannins and seamless freshness supporting the elegant flavors, finishing long and fragrant.

An estate that has done a great job of moving closer to the Pomerol ideal over recent vintages - tons of power, airbrushed tannins, packed with blackberry and blueberry fruits. Maintains its elegance as it opens in the glass, with the florality of that Cabernet Franc coming through strongly. Real impact. Harvest 20th September to October 5th.
Lots of dark fruit and chocolate with blackberry and walnut character. It’s full-bodied with round, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Some earth, too.

The 2019 Clos du Clocher is a wonderfully complete and expressive wine. Lifted aromatics lead into a core of inky dark fruit, with beams of tannin that give the wine shape as well as energy. There is a sense of vibrancy to the 2019 that I find very appealing. Hints of lavender, sage, mint and licorice add pretty top notes to round things out. This is such a pretty wine.
