In 1945, commemorating the Allies' victory and his return to the estate, Baron Philippe de Rothschild enlisted artist Philippe Jullian to craft the label for Mouton Rothschild. It bore the symbol of triumph—the V of Victory—adorned the bottles. Unlike his earlier attempt in 1924, this endeavor proved to be an unequivocal success. Since then, each new vintage of Mouton has featured the reproduction of an original artwork specially commissioned for the estate by a contemporary artist. Beyond the exceptional intrinsic quality of its wines, Mouton Rothschild thus forges its distinctive and singular signature.
