Château d'Issan, the quest for excellence The history of Château d'Issan is primarily that of a heritage, passed down from generation to generation, with a renewed taste for excellence each time. It took a significant turn in 1945 when the Cruse family became the owners. Under the management of Lionel Cruse,was restored, the facilities modernized, and the vineyard replanted. Since 1998, as a result of investments made by Lionel’s son Emmanuel Cruse in the vines and cellars, Château d’Issan wines have become even more a faithful reflection of their exclusive terroir. In 2012, Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti were seduced by the potential of this 3rd Grand Cru Classé and joined forces with the Cruse family. The property thus reached a new level. Through tenacity, passion, and courage, each generation has contributed to the revival of Château d'Issan, allowing it to regain all its prestige and rediscover the soul of a great Margaux.
