I continue to love this cuvée from the team of Hubert de Boüard, and the 2017 La Fleur de Boüard is another rocking good wine that does everything right. Deep inky-colored with serious amounts of red and black fruits, leafy herbs and spring flowers, it hits the palate with a rounded, supple, beautifully textured profile that’s already hard to resist. It has sweet tannin and will probably benefit from short-term cellaring, but it’s going to offer pleasure right out of the gate as well. Read more

Neal Martin - Vinous

The 2017 Fleur de Boüard has a tightly wound bouquet with black cherries, crème de cassis and iris aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grainy tannin, nicely balanced with a touch of tar and cedar infusing the focused finish. It is a more understated Fleur de Boüard but I like the style of the wine in this vintage. Since the vineyard was 99% frosted (yes, you read that figure correctly) Coralie de Boüard told me that she will bottle just 1,000 magnums from the eight barrels.

Black cherry, cocoa, truffle and licorice are omnipresent here. On the palate, the wine is already delicious. A medium-bodied set of satin sheets, this will be a good romp upon release. Due to the frost, only La Fleur de Bouard was produced this year generating 1000 magnums. However, as 2017 marks their 20th anniversary, those magnums will be sold in a celebratory box with a one-time only label.

This is very soft and attractive in nature with a medium body, pretty fruit and a firm tannin undertone. Hints of chocolate throughout.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 La Fleur de Boüard has a provocative nose of kirsch, black raspberries and warm plums with touches of Ceylon tea, garrigue, lavender and Provence herbs. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with perfumed red and black berry layers, framed by rounded tannins, finishing long and fragrant. Drinking Window : 2020 - 2030. 90+

Échantillon frais, réglissé, assez civilisé malgré la haute maturité et la concentration du vin. Vin riche, enrobé et fuselé, long et plein.

Perfumy, with light sandalwood and tobacco notes leading the way for silky textured cherry and plum fruit flavors. Pretty.—J.M.
