2015 Chateau Cap Saint-George

$671.88
12 x 750ml
The 2015 Cap St George, now owned by Jean-Philippe Janoueix, has a rich, sexy bouquet with small dark cherries, crème de cassis and dark plum fruit, a little too heady perhaps, but undeniably pure. The palate is dense and quite muscular, a lot of grip in the mouth with plenty of extract, tarry black fruit mixed with black pepper and sea salt, leading to a more refined finish than the nose suggests. Gives this 4-6 years in bottle so that it can absorb those tannins and you'll have a powerful but attractive wine. Drink 2020 - 2040 Read more

Rich, dark berries and plums on the nose in an attractive, fresh mode. The palate has a very focused, fresh and linear feel. Good depth. Drink or hold.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider

Medium bodied with a sweet plum and cherry character, the wine is soft, forward, and easy to drink, leaving with a blast of fresh, spicy black raspberries.

Tasting Notes

The unique style of Château Cap Saint George can be defined by respect for an exceptional terroir, by precise, meticulous vinification and by care to preserve the fruit and all its complexity. Each vintage is a chance to reaffirm an investment in purity and ‘Grand Cru’ techniques. We never chase after excess but rather clearly defined flavours and textures that reveal finesse, with subtle use of oak that is integrated and never dominates the fruit. Cap Saint George is a fine wine that represents its terroir, sculpted by the techniques and knowledge of Jean-Philippe Janoueix.
