This is a complete wine, full of both tannins and great swathes of ripe fruit. It has a serious side as well in its solid structure and concentration. The juicy blackberry fruits are beginning to calm down and meld into a fine dense wine that will age very well. Drink from 2025.

92–94. Barrel Sample. This wine is dry, with some bitterness and a hard edge of dense tannins. The acidity pierces through the wine, so fresh as to be shocking in its intensity. It will certainly need plenty of time to integrate and mellow.

Refined tannins let the core of lightly mulled plum and raspberry fruit glide throughout, while enticing anise and lilac notes fill in the background. A pretty, charming wine.

A late harvest which favoured Cabernet Sauvignon, which is why so much of it went into the grand vin. So this second wine has a higher proportion of Merlot, and a tiny amount of Carmenère (0.5%) which was starting to reach maturity in the vineyard at this point. It's still extremely young at almost four years old and needs another few years to fully soften out, but it's proof of the quality at Brane right now.
