The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9/% Petit Verdot and the rest Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is a classic example of Pritchard Hill, Chappellet and of Napa Valley. Brilliant purity, a dense purple color, superb blackberry and floral-infused blueberry fruit and cassis, a full-bodied mouthfeel, moderate but sweet tannin and a long, layered, texture and finish make for a profound Cabernet Sauvignon that actually sells at a bargain price for what is in the bottle. Moreover, look for it to evolve graciously for another 20+ years.

In keeping with the house style, Chappellet's Signature bottling is sourced from mountain vineyards, like Stagecoach, Edcora and others. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a super effort for anyone who still has some in their cellar, offering hints of sage and mint alongside cherry fruit on the nose, while the full-bodied palate boasts a supple, silky feel and a spicy, fresh, almost pine-like finish.
Aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, mushrooms and spices. Full and very intense with lots of fruit. Firm and silky. Plenty of tension. Layered and intense. Love it now, but this will be better in 2020.

A complex bouquet of wild berries, dried flowers, subtle cigar box and a framing of new wood introduces a powerful, concentrated and sapid palate with fine but firm tannins.

This is a powerhouse of wine, sturdy and well-built though reaching approachability in the glass. Tobacco, leather and dark chocolate-cherry flavors intermingle around a subtle suggestion of vanilla as sizably puckering tannins ask for air. Black pepper and clove dot the landscape. Enjoy best 2024 through 2034.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature shows the charm, balance, and accessibility of the 2014 vintage beautifully. Still deep ruby/purple-hued, with a beautiful bouquet of crème de cassis and blueberry fruits intermixed with ample white flowers, damp earth, and truffle, this medium to full-bodied beauty has loads of character, an elegant, silky texture, terrific balance, and a great finish. It’s accessible today yet will cruise on its balance and overall harmony over the coming 15-20 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is fabulous. A host of graphite, smoke, licorice, lavender, crème de cassis and exotic spice give the wine its characteristic savory and mineral-drenched flavors. Medium in body and exquisitely layered in the glass, the Signature is a real head-turner. Best of all, it is a superb value. And I do mean superb.
Aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins and a fruity finish. A little one-dimensional but shows attractive fruit. Pretty firmness. Drink now or hold.
