Winemakers Notes
Clos Apalta Vinothèque, the ageing potential of Chilean great wines
Clos Apalta was created in 1997 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband, Cyril de Bournet.
This iconic Chilean wine comes from a complex, unique and exceptional terroir.
Named "Legend of Chile", it is produced in the Apalta Valley, which is an appellation that was officially recognized in 2018.
To demonstrate
the great ageing potential of fine Chilean wines
, Charles Bournet, 7th generation at the helm of the estate, launched the "Clos Apalta Vinothèque" project. He began with the 2012 vintage. After a decade of tranquil ageing in the bottle and optimal storage conditions in Clos Apalta's modern underground cellar, the 2013 vintage can now join other cellars from all over the world.
This is the opportunity to get your hands on the last few remaining bottles of this vintage. The label is adorned with Clos Apalta's signature colors and the label mentions "Vinothèque" on it.
The 2013 vintage
2013 is a vintage characterized by freshness and favorable ripening conditions. The springtime rains supplied the necessary water reserves allowing the grapes to ripen without suffering from the heat, even if the summer season was cooler than in more recent vintages.
