Delicious now, offering currant, chocolate and spice aromas and flavors. Some smokiness. Medium-to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink now and enjoy.

The 2011 Limoux is a more Bordeaux-styled blend of 48% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 13% Syrah and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Aged 12 months in 25% new French oak, it offers ample black cherry and currant-styled fruit intermixed with notions of underbrush, pepper and herbal notes. Medium-bodied, nicely textured and balanced, it’s a delicious, very well-made effort to drink over the coming 5-6 years.
Located just outside the village of Limoux, and formerly known as Domaine de Lambert, Domaine De Baron’arques was purchased by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons in 1998. Both of the wines I was able to taste were rock solid and well worth a look. www.domainedebaronarques.com

Beautiful, with classic notes of cassis, plums, cigar wrapper and chocolate, the Merlot-dominated 2011 Limoux is medium to full-bodied, supple and elegant on the palate. It's beautifully balanced and shines for its elegance and purity. The wine is not massive, but should keep nicely through 2023. I underrated this on release.

Deep colour with a touch of brick at the rim. Definitely has a more Mediterranean feel with tapenade, dark fruit and menthol notes on the nose and a palate that is sweet, broad and gourmand. It still has the freshness for balance but there's very much a solar feel. Maintains a youthful presence. 10% Malbec and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon complete the blend.
Wine Spectator
A dusty red, with dried cherry and berry flavors and cedary notes. Black olive and dark chocolate hints emerge on the finish, balanced by plenty of tannins.
2015 - Decanter World Wine Awards
Complex bouquet with prunes, blackcurrant, spice and pepper. Quite full grippy palate, with concentrated black fruits in the foreground and a persuasive, long finish, all elegantly framed by quality well-integrated oak and grainy tannins.
Award: Silver - DWWA 2015
