Château Yquem 2022 375ml

Yquem, a extra ordinary wine. Great wines are not born just anywhere. A unique set of climatic and geological conditions combine to form a rare equilibrium. This is undoubtedly the case at Yquem, which epitomises all that is best about the singular winegrowing environment in Sauternes. The one and only to be ranked 1er Cru Supérieur in 1855. The magical and fragile microclimate gives birth to this exceptional wine which reveals its elegance and complexity during the tasting. The 2022 vintage - "A crazy year, a crazy vintage, which is literally extra ordinary, opening up a new interpretation of the meaning of time at Yquem". Climatic conditions: The summer of 2022, marked by extreme heat and prolonged drought, had a profound impact on Château d'Yquem. These exceptional weather conditions accelerated the ripening of the grapes, promising a powerful and sun-kissed vintage. The long-awaited rain finally arrived on October 15, allowing the development of Botrytis cinerea , essential for noble rot. This unique context gave birth to a wine of great complexity and remarkable aging potential. The harvest took place from September 20 to October 26. Tasting notes: Château d’Yquem 2022, the result of an exceptional sun-drenched vintage, captivates with its powerful structure and complex aromas. From the very first sip, it reveals roasted notes of pear, candied lemon, and orange marmalade, enriched with floral hints of linden and frangipani. On the palate, its vibrancy evokes apricot jam, while flavors of beeswax, caramel, and quince paste coat the mouth. The salty, slightly bitter finish enhances the candied bitter orange, a signature of Yquem’s greatest wines.
