Tasting Notes

Pale yellow with golden highlights. A well-balanced nose of passionfruit, pineapple, and peach evolving to buttery notes, coconut milk and honey. The palate is fresh and incisive with good amplitude and creamy persistence, followed by floral, menthol aromas, and notes of mango, toasted bread, honey and vanilla. Product Highlights

Laurent Calmel and Jérôme Joseph have spent years championing the Languedoc, convinced their home region deserves a seat alongside France’s most illustrious wine names. Villa Blanche Chardonnay makes a deliciously persuasive case. It’s a flagship of the house, with an international following and the sort of bang-for-buck that had The Wine Collective’s buying team reaching straight for the ‘buy’ buzzer.

The secret? Two harvests, both at night. The first captures freshness; the second, a few weeks later, brings ripe fruit and concentration. Put them together, add a measured touch of oak, and the result is a Chardonnay with richness, creamy texture and plenty of energy.

The 2025 flows with peach, pineapple and passionfruit, followed by buttery notes, toasted bread and vanilla. There’s a touch of Burgundy-like generosity here, delivered with the easy charm of southern France. Rich, bold and thoroughly delicious, with enough freshness to keep that next sip calling.
