Dormilona Clayface Chardonnay 2025

95 POINTS

Jane Faulkner - Halliday Wine Companion

The flagship chardonnay. No oak, as this is created in an Italian terracotta vessel, so it has a purity of fruit flavour, with exceptional texture buoyed by thrilling acidity. It comes out a pale gold with wafts of sea breeze, lemon myrtle and quinine. Flavours build across the palate – from grapefruit and Meyer lemon to quince and grilled nuts. It’s complex and detailed but, equally important, delicious to drink now. A paltry 300 bottles produced – get in quick.
