Product Highlights

Critics are running short of superlatives for Margaret River’s 2023 vintage. One Winepilot reviewer called this wine further evidence of how special the year is, and cracking value too. A viticulturist founded the producer in Wilyabrup in 1984. It has worked with the region’s classic varieties ever since. This range is their second tier, one step below their flagship Cabernet. It was created to show off the varieties Margaret River is known for. In the winery, the team talks about meticulous bunch sorting and gentle pressing. Sam Kim gave it 92 points. He found blackcurrant, thyme, clove and roasted nuts over a supple texture and polished tannins. Christina Pickard at Wine Enthusiast matched that score. She praised the region’s classic balance of power and polish, with dusty, sculpted tannins. Expect cassis, plum and mulberry, with chocolate, graphite and a little woodsmoke. Bright acidity and fine tannins give it grip and focus. It’s a weeknight-priced Cabernet with weekend structure. Winepilot gives it eight to ten years, so buy enough to see it through.
