Product Highlights

The brand behind this wine traces its Coonawarra plantings back to 1888. It’s the top label of a larger South Australian wine business, and this is its second-tier range. The winemaker has worked in the region for close to 20 years. Sauvignon Blanc for this range comes from the wider Limestone Coast, in South Australia’s cool south-east. Sam Kim scored it 93 points. He found Granny Smith apple, capsicum and lemon zest, with real purity. Ken Gargett called it a serious Sauvignon Blanc, exuberant and generous. Shanteh Wale at Halliday was cooler on it at 89 points. Even so, she praised its juicy acidity and very clean, crunchy finish. Expect lemon curd, lime and kiwifruit, with a little passionfruit, fresh herbs and green apple. It’s light, bright and dry, with a crisp finish. Gargett gives it a couple of years. Treat it as this summer’s house white rather than one to save.

Excellent!

"Lighter and fresher in style than most Sav Blancs I’ve tried. More like Shaw and Smith, tropical fruit flavours but not overpowering - well balanced and good quality."
