Crafted in France by Maison L. Tramier & Fils, the 2022 Tramier Beaujolais-Villages is a vibrant expression of 100% Gamay from the Beaujolais-Villages appellation. Part of Burgundy's southern wine region, Beaujolais is renowned for producing fresh, fruit-driven reds with an appealing combination of elegance and character. Bright ruby red in colour, the wine offers an expressive nose of ripe red and black berries, complemented by delicate floral aromas and a touch of spice. The palate is juicy and generous, with flavours of raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry supported by lively acidity, silky tannins and a subtle hint of black pepper. The finish is fresh, smooth and lingering. A versatile and food-friendly red, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, grilled meats, roast poultry, burgers, soft cheeses and fresh pasta. Serve slightly chilled at 12–14degC
Winemakers Notes
Founded in 1842 by Louis Tramier, Maison L. Tramier & Fils is a historic Burgundy wine house based in Mercurey. For more than 180 years, generations of the Tramier and Dufouleur families have developed the house with a shared passion for quality, terroir and French winemaking. Today, the Maison is led by Laurent Dufouleur. As a merchant wine-grower, Maison L. Tramier & Fils carefully selects, develops and ages wines from across Burgundy, with a particular focus on quality, authenticity and value. Its range extends beyond Burgundy into Beaujolais and the Cotes du Rhone, reflecting the Rhone Valley origins of founder Louis Tramier. The Maison combines generations of traditional winemaking expertise with modern cellars, winemaking facilities and bottling equipment. Its historic rock-cut cellars in Mercurey provide ideal conditions for ageing its wines. The quality of the Maison's wines has received recognition from leading wine critics and competitions over the years. Tramier Burgundy wines have been awarded strong scores by Wine Enthusiast, including 93 points for its Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2009 and 92 points and a Cellar Selection distinction for its Corton Grand Cru 2009. Wines from the collection have also received recognition from Gilbert & Gaillard, including Tramier Rully, Mercurey, Chablis and Tiserny. Today, Maison L. Tramier & Fils forms the foundation of the Tramier Collection, alongside Domaine Laurent Dufouleur and Roncier. Together, these three entities combine Burgundy heritage, vineyard expertise and a modern approach to French wine.
