While the Australians battle the Europeans over the use of the name prosecco, the category continues to go gangbusters. What's not to like? Sourced from its home in Australia, the King Valley, the grape is at its lemon sherbety best here with bruised apple and pear. The palate is softer in mouthfeel than many a prosecco out there, which will make it more versatile when it comes to matching with food. A good all-rounder.

Previous releases have been sourced from the King Valley, this changes sourcing but retains plenty of prosecco zip and zestiness. Citrus to the fore in bright lemony tones with quince and Granny Smith apple crispness. Dry and fine-edged with racy acidity, it's all here.

The bead takes a while to settle here. Pale yellow colour and full of energy. High-toned citrus aromatics of graepfruit and lemongrass, green apples too. Apples turn to red on the palate, with a healthy dosage adding palate-weight and accessible charm. Very well put together for early enjoyment.
